Here we are again … Embarking on another
new year! Oh, the possibilities, the opportunities, and
the hope that lies ahead! Last January we talked about
resolutions in our newsletter and the importance of the
renewal of our minds, not yearly, but DAILY as the Word
urges.
Luke 9:23
And He said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross
daily, and follow me.
2 Corinthians 4:16
… though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed
day by day.
The world is so whelming that
many times we become OVERwhelmed, and as a result our priorities get out of
order. Oft times it affects relationships with our loved ones, who will likely
remind us when we are "out of sorts." When our relationship with the Lord
suffers, chances are, we won’t audibly hear Him say, “I need more of your
attention,” but when our connection with Him is neglected, everything in our
life is affected. That doesn’t mean that we cannot pursue new interests or
expand our horizons. Doesn’t our Lord WANT us to pray for more influence for His
glory? Isn’t it music to our Father’s ears to hear us plead, “Please use me MORE
to do your will.” Come to think of it, haven’t there been times in our lives
when He has provided so much opportunity that we collapse at the end of the day
wondering if we can do it alone? At those times, it may feel stressful, but ahhh,
it's the perfect time to put our FAITH into action and reach for our Lord's
hand, because without HIM, we can do nothing worthwhile, and that is when we
will see His miracles unfold.
Philippians
4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Urge yourself DAILY to open
your heart and renew your mind and your faith. Spend time alone with your Father
each and every day and strengthen your relationship with Him. Tell Him your
ambitions, your hopes, your dreams, your fears, your feelings … Nothing is too
insignificant to share with Him. He wants to hear it all from you, if it is
important to you, it is important to Him. In Jesus’ name, ask Him to make His
will your heart’s
desire. He is your Father. He loves you more than is fathomable to human
understanding. Embrace every instance our Lord mercifully gives you to glorify
Him in every aspect of your life and enjoy a renewed and rewarding relationship
with Him every day of the year.
