DIVISION BIBLE STUDY
Let's
look into division within the Body of Christ (Christians)
These divisions have been within the
Church for a LONG time:

1 Corinthians 3:3
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among
you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not
carnal, and walk as men? |
|
1 Corinthians 11:18
For first of all, when ye come together in the
church, I hear that there be divisions among you;
and I partly believe it. |
The reason for these divisions are usually
disagreements on interpretation of Scripture or specific
beliefs or ideologies that differ from one another. It is
also due to misunderstandings and conflict of personalities,
just to name a few.
PRIDE ... Is the number one reason.

Even the Jewish Religious leaders at the
time of Jesus had these divisions over the belief in angels
and Spiritual matters:

Acts 23:7-8
And when he had so said, there arose a dissension
between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the
multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that
there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit:
but the Pharisees confess both. |
One would assume that the BODY OF
CHRIST, despite having varying beliefs and opinions on
matters would be able to overcome and not allow division to
occur because of their one POWERFUL common bond which is the
love for and belief in Jesus Christ, who COMMANDED that we
are to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

John 15:12
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as
I have loved you.
|
But alas ... It is not so.
But why?
Because the enemy of our soul knows that
he can NOT destroy the Body of Christ from the outside.
|
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and
upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall not prevail against it. |
Sooooooo ... He must use those
CHRISTIANS within the Church itself to be able to cause
havoc and destroy the FAITH of other Christians.
But how does He go about this?
By causing chaos and confusion in our
lives which causes emotional reaction as if we were his
puppets.
If you are
like most people … Your life is an emotional roller
coaster at times, due to the various issues that you
encounter along your Christian walk. From good to bad
and every gray area in between.
The Word of
God reveals that we are to be content during ALL of
these times and states of mind and heart.

Philippians 4:11
Not that
I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in
WHATSOEVER STATE I AM IN, THEREWITH BE CONTENT. |
We are taught
to be JOYFUL during EVERY state of mind and heart that
we find ourselves in and to allow NOTHING to steal our
joy.
|
John 16:22
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you
again, and your heart shall rejoice, AND YOUR JOY,
NO MAN TAKETH FROM YOU. |
WHY
would anyone try and steal your joy?
The intent of the enemy (even thru use of other people
at times) is to quench the SPIRIT of God within you.
They want
to leave you tattered, torn and frayed, from all the
nonsense, so that you are unable to maintain peace
within. Let NOTHING take that Joy and comfort that comes
from being connected to the Holy Spirit of TRUTH …
Here is
Wisdom ...
We can NOT be
connected to the Holy Spirit while being caught up in
worldly gossip and drama. The FRUITS are just all wrong
and when this occurs, there is no Spiritual connection
between your spirit and the Holy Spirit.
If you
become entangled in something where you find yourself
whispering in the shadows and backbiting which we KNOW
from the Bible, that God despises …
Walk away
my friends from those who seek division.

Roman 16:17-18
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause
DIVISIONS and offences contrary to the doctrine
which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that
are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but THEIR
OWN BELLY; and by good words and fair speeches
deceive the hearts of the simple.

Divisions are usually due to the
selfish pride of a soul seeking to attain THEIR own way.
So how do we discern if what we
believe of a matter that we are caught up in and if our
resulting spiritual reactions are of God or serving our
own belly or purpose or that of another that we have
sided with, usually due to friendship?
The Bible is clear ... A tree is known
by its fruits:

Matthew 12:33
Either make the tree good, and his fruit
good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit
corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. |
What does Jesus mean by our
FRUITS?
Our FRUITS
(words and deeds) express our soul’s spiritual
condition. So we are to check our own fruits to see if
they are in harmony with the fruits of the Spirit …
What are the fruits of
the Spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. |
But IF we
find that our fruits are contrary to the fruits of the
Spirit, despite what WE think about the situation we are
in …
We are
WRONG:

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance (Division), emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you in time past, that
THEY WHICH DO SUCH THINGS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE
KINGDOM OF GOD .

Take
the time to look up the meaning of many of the words in
that Scripture and you will discover that they are words
and deeds which seek to cause division.
So, it is
obvious that we are to take no part in those who seek to
divide for selfish gain. But rather correct them if they
try and get us involved in the division plot, created by
the enemy of our soul.
|
Ephesians 5:11
And have
no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove (Gently and Lovingly Correct)
them. |
You may anger the
soul in question for the time being, but the seeds of
TRUTH may take root within them and they may be healed.
|
Hebrews 12:11
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be
joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it
yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto
them which are exercised thereby. |
In doing so ... You
may have just saved their soul.
|
James 5:20
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner
from the error of his way shall save a soul from
death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. |
DO NOT ALLOW THE ENEMY OF OUR SOUL TO STEAL YOUR
JOY ...
OR THEIRS !!!
